'Shin Kimagure Orange Road: Summer's Beginning' is the second Kimagure Orange Road movie, which was shown in the mid90s. It's 90s æsthetic rather than 80s. It shows the characters when they were older, so there's changes in the character design. There were flashbacks as well as pictures that were similar to the original anime we love but with some small differences. It requires getting used to but it's not that bad.

Note also that Izumi Matsumoto's vision of Kimagure Orange Range [the mangaka of KOR] differs from that of the director and the screenwriter. That's why the manga ending is said to be different to the ... anime ending. Also, Matsumoto did not approve of the writing of the first movie.

This second movie, on the other hand, is not written by Matsumoto. Its source material is the Shin Kimagure Orange Road novels which are reportedly not as good as the original manga. It follows the events of the first movie.

Here are the bad parts of the movie. The drama of movie 2, which is 22-year-old Kyousuke and 19-year-old Kyousuke getting trapped in a time loop, is not really anything to write home about.

The original anime TV series was inconsistent in its rules on time travel. In episodes 47 and 48, it finally decided that every time travel is accounted for and that there's nothing you can do to change the past. Apparently, KOR: Summer's Beginning follows the rules of episodes 47 and 48. Hence, there was no actual tension.

The future Madoka might have been emotional over what's happening to Kyousuke, but as viewers, we know that it will end well.

(Minor plothole: How is it possible that 22-year-old Kyousuke wasn't able to avoid being trapped in the first place given the fact that he also travelled into the future?)

That said, even though fans of the manga did not like movies 1 and 2, I like it. And even some fans of movie 1 aren't exactly keen on movie 2. But as far as I'm concerned, it's not really bad despite reading many naysayers.

The heartbreak of the first movie was necessary, but it was not well received in Japan, which is why some say movie 2 was produced. It provided space for the reconciliation of the three characters while at the same time taking Kyousuke and Madoka's relationship to the next level. And future Hikaru is gorgeous. I think this is a satisfying conclusion to the franchise.

Movies 1 and 2 aren't actually necessary if you think about it. The TV series ended at the right moment when Kyousuke and Madoka kissed offscreen, and coming out as a couple and Kyousuke breaking Hikaru's heart could've been left to our imagination. If we insist that moving to maturity is one of Kimagure Orange Road's themes, both movies satisfy this. Movie 1 is about confronting and breaking from the toxic love triangle of the original anime. Movie 2 completes the cycle with the reconciliation of the three and their renewed friendships standing on a firmer and more realistic foundation.

The story of movie 2 can be any random time travel episode from the anime but given cinematic weight. It's better than the TV series but falls short of the emotionality of movie 1.

Similarly to a previous review I read, ep.1 (Cinderella), ep.2 (Little Red Riding Hood), and ep.3 (Hansel & Gretel) were INCREDIBLE! I LOVE the horror, gore, and overall twisted-ness of it all. 100/10 for all 3 lol.
Regarding Cinderella, I’ve never seen anything like it and whatever expectations I had were reached - and thensome. Red Riding Hood and Hansel & Gretel were also WAY better than I expected - and not at all what I expected. As I watched H&G, it reminded me a bit of Promised Neverland (which is a series Im personally a fan of) so I really enjoyed watching since I love ... that “vibe”. In fact, I found myself wishing The Grimm’s Adaptation of Hansel & Gretel eventually gets a spin-off! It could be a really cool series I think! Lol

Unfortunately, after watching these 3 episodes, the remaining 3 were more or less lackluster. They were still interesting and pretty enjoyable to watch (the animation and music for all 6 I found to be an enthusiastic 10/10), but as for the stories themselves, I have many mixed feelings.
I can’t help but think that if I had watched these separately from the first 3, maybe I wouldn’t have been so disappointed? Ep 1-3 were just so incredible!; it’s hard not to judge 4-6 with high expectations.

Overall, The Grimm Adaptations was AWESOME!! Definitely worth watching! And despite the decline in the last half of the series, I was very disappointed there weren’t more episodes):

***Side note: It may be worth watching the series backwards…? Like ep. 6 first, then watch ep. 5 and then-on. Idk if it would change much, but like I previously said.. I can’t help but think if I watched the last 3 separate from the first 3, I wouldn’t have judged them as harshly & would have found them more enjoyable to watch.

This is a very funny, charming, and heartwarming anime centered around a specific gag. The "torture" scenes are very cute and every single character is incredibly likable. The show manages to span many different topics but is generally about being kind to each other (and yourself) and finding new family and friends in seemingly unlikely places.

It's perfect as a pick-me-up anime and as a binge show. Some people might get tired of the repetition of the central gag (that the princess always caves under torture and gives up a secret) but I think each torture scene is varied enough to be entertaining. Later episodes also ... buck the formula for more slice-of-life style situations where the princess is just having fun with her new demon friends (even though we always return to her dungeon cell for more torture).

This anime might be one of the greatest dark horses of the year, it is a incredible fantasy the likes of which i havent seen since danmachi, and arguably even better than it. If you like all things fantasy, this is for you.

Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha follows the story of rennt and his journey to become a mythril class adventure. If youve already read the synopsis though you already know this of course, however where this show excels is the fact that it is ACTUALLY dedicated to following that goal. where many isekai and adventure shows will put that goal to the side, in ... this it is right front and center! no useless harms that you dont care about, just pure adventure and growth from a compelling main character and a strong supporting cast.

If you like to see a character grow and actually fulfill his dream, aswell as great action and satisfying lore, watch this anime!

This is a binge worthy anime. However, to be completely honest, this show does suffer from the classic fate of most anime with an "unparalleled genius" as it's MC. That is - it's really not that smart. If you're able to ignore that part, and treat it like a soap opera-esq character drama, it's very entertaining.

Our MC gets away with pretty much everything he wants due to very hand-wavy "he can read people to such an extent that he knows exactly how they will react". He's also randomly just like, incredibly strong.

He doesn't really have much of a character arc either, but ... it's really funny to watch all these girls fall in love with him when his expression literally never changes and he speaks in the most sarcastic know-it-all way. There's a really large cast and most of them get their time in the spotlight, but again, do not think any deeper than surface level about anything that's happening.

If you can take it all at face value you'll certainly be rewarded. Otherwise, you'll probably just think it's stupid.

The animation is high quality and the action scenes are fast paced and impactful.

But, to be honest, there really isn't much else. The story is very thin and there isn't much depth to any of the characters. Essentially, the "weakest hunter", through deus ex machina, gains the power to "level up" his abilities. He also gains all sorts of video game like abilities such as inventory, menu screens, status screens, etc. pretty much everything you'd expect from "one of those" in this day and age.

The story, such as it is, is the MC's mom is in the hospital with some incurable disease. MC needs ... to get stronger so he can fight the boss that is holding the magical all-purpose curative that'll heal his mom's fantasy cancer. So that's what he does.

That's basically it. There are a few relatively minor subplots but none of them reach any kind of conclusion, and there aren't any other characters that stand out besides the MC. To it's credit, it is called Solo Leveling, so that's potentially to be expected, but it does make the anime feel a little hollow and samey after the 12th episode of watching the MC fight some nondescript monster and gain an unknown amount of "experience" to level up.

All-in-all it's a mostly entertaining action flick which drags in some areas and which could use a stronger supporting cast. If you only care about cool fight scenes, then this is the anime for you. If you're like me and want a little something more, then you might come away disappointed.

Alternatively called Junko no Heya (Junko's Room), the Nana recaps featured minor characters and their commentary on what occurred to the main characters along the way. Best watched some time after watching the original show.

Those who like Gintama's sense of humor will like the humor here as well. I'm a fan of the constant fourth wall breaks the episodes have, gives screentime to some of the less-featured characters, and they are overall nice abridged versions of the main show episodes it covered. Besides that, there's nothing groundbreaking about it. Watch the Nana recaps for the funny and rate this one a nana over juu ... (7/10) afterwards.

This show is so unbelievably funny all the way through with a superb emotional payoff near the end. I cannot recommend it enough. It is a superb work of art. I really wish it had gotten a second season. That said, as a standalone season of episodes, it is still pretty complete and of the highest quality, a fairly amusing show at its worse and an outstanding riotous laughter-inducing bout of hilarious nonsense at its best. It seems absurdist initially, but the way the show justifies the hero's lunatic levels of caution at times and not at others are hysterically wonderful laughter inducing experiences. Highly ... recommend. So good.

This anime is cute, yea. I mean it’s impossible for it not to be. There isn’t any way for an adorable white-haired girl in a white dress who speaks like a child and apologizes for everything not to be. But I cannot fathom HOW the Japanese constantly succeed at making such neat concepts as discovering an angel in your apartment… turn out SO DULL.
This is exactly like every live-in-maid anime you’ve ever seen before, if you’ve seen one. The last one I recall was Helpful Fox Senko-san… all the ingredients are exactly the same: magical female spirit shows up, starts cooking and doing laundry ... for MC-kun. Is naturally a great cook (wasn’t kidding about those ingredients!) and great at laundry and wants to make MC-kun feel better. He is exactly as bland as is required- grape flavored this time (purple hair and wears a matching tie)
At least in Senko-san the guy was a grown man who worked at a stressful job. Here, the kid looks to be about 15, so naturally he’s in high school (GROAN). And he acts like a terrified helpless baby around girls. The 2nd episode is about how Angel-chan bursts into the bathroom on him constantly, and he screams and panics and turns beat red and slams the door… In the third he walks in on a pretty co-worker changing and “Arghhh!! A GIRL! And she’s changing!” and he spends the next several minutes freaking the fuck OUT. Sighhhhhhhhhhhh

Look I’m not an expert on girls but… if you are one, do you find it attractive for a guy to panic and freak out at the sight of women? Would you throw yourself at him like the chicks do in this anime? (Don’t say yes)

The biggest letdown is the angel doesn’t even look or act like an angel apart from having white hair. She only has wings in a few scenes. She doesn’t have any religious wisdom or pray or tell the MC to worship God or anything- and I’m not asking for a religious anime here but if you have a creature strongly associated with certain religious beliefs it would be a lot more relatable and interesting if she acted like an angel from heaven- even if just for cute effect.
This leads me to probably the biggest issue, which is how many ideas you can come up with for “Angel shows up in apartment”. Some of the situations could be funny, embarrassing, shocking, there’s a whole treasure trove of things you could do with such a concept. And this anime does exactly what you don’t want and nobody needs: it plays it so safe that it’s just dull. A white-haired girl moves in with MC-kun and cooks his dinner for him. Then he meets other pretty girls who are magical (or not) and they like him.

It just doesn’t pay the bills, I’m sorry.
(but it would be funny if SHE did!)

This looks okay the visuals are nicely colored and the characters are decently animated but that’s not much of an accomplishment, in an era where everything is just done on a computer using character-templates. There is no individual style in this at all, no mistakes, no experiments, nothing unique.
Will I actually watch it every week I dunno… if the new episodes keep showing up for me on Sunday morning, probably. Sunday morning is quiet and I’m usually not doing anything in particular.
Sunday morning reminds me of church…
Church reminds me of, angels…? Well the angels in heaven, if there is one and they exist, must be far more interesting than this house-servant girl who cooks food for grape-flavored-protag-kun. That’s a shame really.

Overview:
The post-apocalyptic genre is one that has been done to death in just about every form of media you can think of, yet has proven to remain popular even to this day. "Shangri-La", an anime by Gonzo originally released in 2009, is one of the lesser known examples of the genre, and is in equal parts an example of what to do and what NOT to do with it. It's an intriguing series to be sure, but it never manages to make the most of that intrigue, and is a very mixed bag overall.

Story (6.5/10):
Set many years after an earthquake ravaged Japan, the human population ... has been split into two main factions- the elite, who live in a grand, futuristic tower named Atlas, and the refugees, who live a ramshackle town called Duomu and have to regularly take up arms in order to get through day by day. Belonging to the latter group is our protagonist, Kuniko Hojo, an 18-year-old girl who has recently been released from a detention centre and is being trained to become the future leader of a resistance group called Metal Age, who serve as the main providers of supplies for people in the slums. While Kuniko and her friends are performing a raid on Atlas, Kuniko discovers an unpleasant truth- Atlas has more than enough vacancies for everyone living in Duomu, which can only mean the higher-ups are selfish jerks who would rather keep it all to themselves. After this, Kuniko becomes determined to take what she and her people are owed and fight for a better future.

The story is interesting and complex, I'll admit. Unfortunately, it also has a serious problem with getting to the point! Even though the truth about Atlas is revealed at the end of the third episode, it isn't until just over halfway though the series that any meaningful attack on it is launched. Between all of this is a set-up that feels like it goes on for much longer than necessary. There's even some attempt to question as to whether Metal Age are really doing the right thing, which would probably have had the intended impact if it wasn't for the fact that the supreme leader of Atlas is clearly shown to be a selfish psychopath who openly admits that she sees everything and everyone as tools for her amusement, and whatever problems the people in Atlas might have can't even begin to compare to those of the people in Doumu, something Kuniko herself even points out. There's even an arc where Kuniko is sent back to the detention centre for a few episodes, during which pretty much nothing noteworthy happens aside from Kuniko's first face-to-face meeting with the main villain, making it feel like empty padding more than anything. Fortunately, I can say that the second half of the series is a lot better than the first, but that really isn't saying much since it was a pretty low bar to clear.

Even beyond the very slow-paced beginning (which I've honestly come to expect from Gonzo anime, anyway), the series often ends up confused and entangled in its own narrative. Throughout the series, there are no less than four stories going on simultaneously, and while some of them are decently enjoyable (Mikuni's story being a highlight), there are others that I couldn't make sense of for the life of me. The biggest example of this would be that of Karin Ishida, a young girl and genius programmer who enjoys messing with the world's economy at her leisure. Throughout the series, I couldn't make heads or tails of the scenes involving Karin and couldn't really figure out why they were even in the series, considering the plot mainly revolves around a resistance group trying to overthrow a tyrannical government, and Karin's economic endeavours don't exactly lead to anything important. Ultimately, it's hard to say whether the series would have benefitted from more episodes or less, since while it does try to ram an awful lot into 24 episodes, a lot of the stuff it puts in feels really unnecessary and the series wouldn't lose much by removing it.

Art & Animation (7.5/10):
As is typical of a Gonzo anime, "Shangri-La" visuals are... not great, to put it bluntly. While the animations are good enough and there are some pretty decent character designs and minimal fanservice, dull colours, muddy textures and rough edges are very frequent. While the series doesn't look horrible by any stretch of the imagination, there's nothing about the visuals that stood out to me either, and so the best way to describe them would be "average".

Sound & Dialogue (8/10):
There really isn't all that much to say about "Shangri-La"'s soundtrack. It's barely even there a lot of the time and even when it is there, it mostly just blends into the background. The opening is also rather forgettable, though the two ending themes are both good in their own way and I will admit I enjoyed listening to them. The voice acting is generally very good, with Lindsay Siedel and Apphia Yu being particular highlights as Kuniko and Mikuni, respectively, and Austin Tindle doing a respectable job as Kunihito. Still, it can be very jarring to hear the voice of Kent Williams coming out of a transgender woman like Momoko, and I don't really know why they didn't go for a softer voice. All in all, the sound design has its problems, but it is still probably the best part of the series.

Characters (7/10):
The best way to describe Kuniko is that she's determined- once she has her mind set on something, she will not give in until she sees it through, and sometimes gets pissed at people who are easily willing to give up simply because they see no point in trying. Of course, determination won't get you far unless you have the strength to back it up, which Kuniko thankfully absolutely has, skilfully wielding a boomerang as big as she is and showing no hesitance to kill if necessary. What's more is that you can certainly tell that's she's been trained for a long time to take over Metal Age, as once things get going, she proves herself to be a very capable and charismatic leader. Unfortunately, while she is a likeable protagonist, she doesn't really undergo any major growth over the show's 24 episodes, which is especially noticeable give that she's the character we see the most of. The closest thing she gets to character development is becoming more determined to improve the lives of her people, something she's attempting to do even in the beginning. Also, and this is a rather minor criticism, but I found her character design to be rather lacking, as she looks like a kid despite being supposedly 18. Personally, I think they should have either made her a few years younger or have her look closer to her age. I'd have been fine with either, honestly, because what's the point in making her older than the usual anime protagonist if she's not going to look it?

Second in importance to Kuniko is Mikuni, a very pale young girl who lives in Atlas and is treated as royalty over there. Initially, she comes off as really creepy and ruthless, even habitually putting people to death for lying (which she is able to see through easily). However, it's later revealed that this isn't her fault, with the heavy implication being that she just doesn't know any better due to her upbringing in Atlas (as well as the fact that her power appears to be out of her control), and she is actually quite innocent and kind, if also rather annoying at times, as any child is. She also suffers from a condition that makes her vulnerable to sunlight, and as such rarely leaves her chambers. Her story runs parallel to Kuniko's for the majority of the series, with it not being until the second half that the two girls meet. While she's not quite as important to the story, I slowly but surely found myself liking Mikuni more than Kuniko (and every other character, for that matter), due to the fact that she actually has a character arc and undergoes some very noticeable changes over the series. Her story also has easily some of the most emotional moments in the anime, and towards the end I just wanted to give the poor girl a hug after all she had been through.

The last member of the main cast is Kunihito Kusanagi, a military officer who resides in Atlas and works for their corporation, which naturally puts him at odds with Metal Age, whom he initially sees as a bunch of selfish rebels. That said, it's hard to call him a villain, as at the end of the day he's just a soldier doing his job and is more than willing to negotiate, even if he's not the best at it due to his refusal to see others' points of view. Unfortunately, there isn't an awful lot to say about him compared to Kuniko and Mikuni, with his character type being one you'll find in many other anime, especially the "Gundam" franchise. Besides the main three, "Shangri-La" has a pretty sizeable supporting cast, some of which are interesting and likeable while others are forgettable or annoying. Among these is two transgender women, who rather than being treated as offensive jokes, are instead major characters with their own feelings, dreams, friendships, and roles to play, which is practically unheard of in anime. In general, the women in the series tend to have bigger roles and importance than the men do, with even the main villain being a woman who constantly expresses dominance over her male subordinates. As a whole, the cast is good, but there isn't anyone I found to be all that memorable.

Enjoyment (7/10):
"Shangri-La"'s poor pacing not only hurts the storytelling, it also means the series can be pretty boring in the first half. While there are some action scenes, they aren't as common as you might think and multiple episodes can go by without their being any action at all. Ultimately, whether you're invested in what's going on or just bored out of your mind really depends on what part of the series you're currently watching, though I can at least say that things get a lot more exciting in the second half, though it can also be rather dark at times, with a number of notable character deaths.

Overall:
While "Shangri-La" isn't a bad anime per se, there isn't really anything about it that makes it stand out among other stories of its kind. The plot is all over the place, the visuals are dull, the soundtrack is passable at best and the characterization varies wildly in quality. It's worth watching if you're a fan of post-apocalyptic stories, but if you've already had your fill of the genre, I would recommend either giving it a miss or saving it for when you have nothing else to watch.

REVIEW IN ENGLISH -

I feel genuinely confused after watching this anime and seeing that THIS is what left everyone fascinated. The absurd fame and positive and surprising comments about this work made me curious to watch it, I watched it really excitedly hoping it would be all of that or, at the very least, a great anime with good development, but I found neither. I refuse to believe that anyone who has a good repertoire of animes watched would consider this title a masterpiece. The animation is beautiful, the theme is interesting, but both the story and the characters are shallow... ... The anime wants to excite, but the characters are shallow and inexpressive, they don't convey the essence that the work wants to deliver, and this fact is the more disappointing. The theme and lessons about time are really something very interesting to address, I love things like that, but this anime wasn't able to give it a good development. I don't feel any attachment to the characters, any emotion, the story was totally generic and poorly developed, something very amateurish I would say. Frieren may be considered good, but it is definitely far from being a work of art. It is too distortion to believe that Frieren's script, construction and lessons are better than Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, that the emotion is superior to Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso, the comedy can match Spy x Family, the fights surpass Hunter x Hunter, the approach to time has been considered better than Steins;Gate and, it would even be a joke to say that there is some romance present... The fact that this title is in such a position is a disregard for real complex and exciting works, it is the feeling it causes. Unfortunately, the anime failed to develop well what it set out to convey, the theme covered demanded more than was delivered.

REVIEW EM PORTUGUÊS, BRASIL -

Me sinto genuinamente confusa após assistir esse anime e ver que foi ISSO que deixou geral fascinado. A fama absurda e comentários positivos e surpreendentes sobre essa obra me deixaram curiosa para assisti-lo, assisti realmente empolgada esperando ser tudo isso ou, no mínimo, um ótimo anime com bom desenvolvimento, mas não encontrei nenhum dos dois. Me recuso a acreditar que alguém que tenha um bom repertório de animes assistidos, considere este título uma obra-prima. A animação é linda, o tema é interessante, mas tanto a história quanto os personagens são rasos... O anime quer emocionar, mas os personagens são rasos e inexpressivos, não conseguem transmitir a essência que a obra quer entregar, e esse fato é o mais decepcionante. A temática e lições sobre o tempo é realmente algo muito interessante de se abordar, eu amo coisas assim, mas esse anime não soube dar um bom desenvolvimento a isso. Não senti nenhum apego aos personagens, nenhuma emoção, a história foi totalmente genérica e mal desenvolvida, algo bem amador eu diria. Frieren pode ser considerado bom, mas definitivamente está longe de ser uma obra de arte. É distorção demais acreditar que o roteiro, construção e lições de Frieren seja melhor que Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, que a emoção seja superior a Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso, a comédia possa se equiparar a Spy x Family, as lutas superem Hunter x Hunter, a abordagem do tempo tenha sido considerada melhor que Steins;Gate e, seria até piada falar que há algum romance presente... O fato deste título estar em tal posição é um descaso com obras complexas e emocionantes reais, é o sentimento que causa. Infelizmente o anime não conseguiu desenvolver bem o que se propôs a transmitir, o tema abordado exigia mais do que foi entregue.

"Something something fascism"

I can't help but notice that a lot of people who love this anime tend to quote a certain line about fascism that's uttered in it. I get the strange feeling that some people conflate current real world events with historical events, and use media aimed at children to re-confirm their beliefs. That's cringe.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I was disappointed by this movie. Studio Ghibli-films are nearly always held in a very high regard by most people, but every time I put one on it's like I've just spun the chamber of a revolver in a ... Russian roulette-game, there's a solid chance that the movie is going to be very good, even a masterpiece, but there's also the risk that it's going to be a beautifully drawn dud that just leaves me bored at the end. Sadly, Porco Rosso comes much closer to the latter outcome than the former.

Maybe I am just the wrong age group, I never saw this anime as a child, and it does seem aimed at children in some ways. Nevertheless, when watching it as an adult I can appreciate the beautiful art and animation, but the story is meandering and doesn't really go anywhere. There's violence in it and allusions to death, but there's not much consequence to the violence we see happen, which just feels strange to me (are we in a dangerous situation, or are we not?). Everybody seems to love the main character, but I have no clue as to why, he's not especially charismatic. I guess he's heroic and helps people, but is that enough for every woman in the movie to fall for him? I don't know, just seemed a bit strange and un-earned.

All in all, 6/10, perfectly fine to put on if you are bored and want to watch something pretty, but it's not exactly a Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke.

Bad, simply bad AND borderline criminal.

First let me start out with the good-
1. King of America is a hilarious name for a character.
2. Akizuki's many variants having their conflicting inner monologues after seeing Shirase do, well... "Things" with Misao, his niece/sister is actually hilarious and made me laugh once or twice.

Now, the bad- Straight up pedophilia. They don't even try to hide or sugarcoat it like other BAD anime. I've never been this uncomfortable watching something that isn't hentai. Only the first few episodes feature somewhat cool computer stuff all latter episodes are filled with early 2000s anime bs.

It's not a good anime, ... it's straight up not worth watching for any reason.

Mashle started better in the first 12 episodes than it ends after the other 12. It's a decent show that can go both ways later, but this half of the season feels lacking in pace, humor and anything to keep me occupied while watching the show.
Sure, there were some fights, the main secret got out of the box now and there was set up for the antagonist and the meta plot.
However it doesn't feel all that impressive at this point.
Mashle felt fun when MC was fooling around with his fake magic, but now they don't really bother anymore with that and it starts feeling one ... punch man without everything that made one punch man good. The story takes itself too seriously for the overall level absurdity and I would prefer it be more chill.
It took me like 4 days going back and forth at it to finish these 12 episodes and it was borderline passable for me.

I hope they pick up the pace next season, otherwise I will probably drop it at this rate. Gimmick can't keep me for too long.

This one was actually very surprising, leaving aside the plot of itself this one is a idol anime that i dont usually seen normally.
very funny and even inspiring to the end.
the music, the voices, the rythm, everything was really genius.

First of all, this is Sakura, the protagonist, she is really well defined as a person, she really makes you connect with her, especially after hearing about her past, she is my favorite.

As the story progresses, the management of the group is interesting, as they usually progress as a unit, there were no parts of the story where there was some kind of plot hole, leaving ... aside the theme of resurrection and zombies of course. lol

The individual stories of each member are well told and even have messages of reflection, in none of them the plot weakens, it even strengthens. Especially Junko's, at first she can be a little childish and even pointless but keep watching, she has her motives and weaknesses.

Anyway, the rest of the individual stories should be completed in the other season so I'm looking forward to it.

This is the problem with changing standards: it's evident that Ikoku Irokoi was received better in its hayday than it is now. It's not that this anime is bad, per se; it's more that it reflects the inclinations of the early 00s.

So before you completely dismiss this anime, consider a few things:

1. It seems that not many have focused on Ranmaru's wife despite her serving as a catalyst in this anime. Kaoru, who he wed to for the sake of his family, was physically and verbally abusive, which only gets worse over time. As a result, Ranmaru meets Al, who he immediately becomes attracted ... to.

There's a stark contrast between Kaoru, a highbrow yakuza's daughter who repeatedly shows her disdain for marrying a brutish, old-fashioned man she believes to be beneath her, and Al, a chauvinistic gentleman who's aloof enough to prioritize having a good time. So the anime presents a situation where Ranmaru is faced with two choices: the wife he doesn't love and that doesn't love him back, or the man who seems to fetishize the very traits his wife loathes, and that Ranmaru himself is proud of. It's obvious to see why it's called a "Love Affair".

2. Although there was non-con in the series, it was NOT between Al and Ranmaru. Not only did Ranmaru not stop or want to stop Al's advances (even when he wasn't drunk), but he plainly acknowledged it, his bemusement stemming primarily from cultural differences and his naivety with relationships. I won't go as far as to say that there's enthusiastic consent, but their relationship would better be classified as dubcon at least. That still might be a deal-killer to some.

Al, despite his gracefulness, is kinda scummy, but so is the whole cast. There is no development to be found here; there's only a string of tangentially-related one-night stands that clumsily guides the viewers to the grand finale. You'll be terribly disappointed if you expect anything more than what the title indicates. (Admittedly, there are things here and there to give the feel of 'the heart grows fonder apart', but that feels like a bit of a stretch.)

3. And, finally, keep in mind that this is the same creator of Viewfinder and Crimson Spell, the former of which was briefly animated. If you're expecting a well-rounded, tame, wholesome couple with no problems whatsoever, you won't find it with Yamane's works. Instead, try Given, Cherry Magic, Sasaki to Miyano, or any of the other BL series that are more suited for the times.

With that said, I personally have always enjoyed this (albeit with a few eye-turning caveats), especially as the smut was more daring then than it ever will be now, but I realize my opinion is a sorely unpopular one. Taking the larger audience into consideration, it's very likely that some viewers new to BL or searching for a mainstream-compatible series will not find enjoyment in Ikoku Irokoi, which is why I struggle to recommend it. That said, it doesn't erase the few charms the series does have, between its above-average animation and some lighthearted scenes here and there to soften the mood.

If you're looking for a wholesome and quick show, you've come to the right place. This has a little bit of everything in season 1 with each episode being a small skit or parody. In season 2, we get an overarching storyline.

This show is absolutely delightful with characters that convey so much emotion without saying a word. This show covers so many genres while still managing to retain its wholesomeness and family-friendly demographic.

I would recommend this show to anyone tbh. It's fun and doesn't drag in its pacing. Who knew that felt guinea pigs could display so much character and emotions?

I have to admit, I found myself enjoying this show more than I expected. While the opening and ending may suggest it's just another typical harem series, it's a well-balanced blend of romance and slice-of-life elements. The characters genuinely feel like friends when they hang out, and the female lead isn't just a token for male fantasy fulfillment. Although it serves as a promotional project for Hokkaido, the storytelling effectively highlights the region's best features. Furthermore, the show doesn't shy away from portraying the challenges of living in such a cold area. In essence, it feels like the author draws heavily from personal experiences, making ... the scenarios feel remarkably realistic. In conclusion, while it may not be the greatest show, it certainly deserves more recognition.

NOTE: This review is purely for the first 3 eps of The Fable anime. I have not read the manga or watched the live action adaptation, so I won't be referencing those in this.

The Fable is an interesting anime. Here's the premise: Satou Akira, our main protagonist, is known as the infamous genius "Fable". A lot of things are easy for him, but being a normal member of society isn't. He has been given a special mission: not to kill anyone for a long period of time. Believe it or not, this may be the toughest mission he has yet to take on.

The Fable reminds ... me of a more serious version of Way of the Househusband. The MC is a badass Yakuza member, who is often oblivious to his own surroundings, and has to work with others in order not to blow his cover. Just like Househusband, Fable has very good comedy imo. It's one thing to write good comedy on paper, but delivery is just as, if not, more important imo. Saying a dumb joke with a deadpan voice might illicit a completely different reaction than if u were to say it with a cheery voice.

Characters: I enjoy the cast of The Fable a lot. Akira is a very enjoyable main character, he has that "dead inside" vibe which I tend to like with these types of shows. He's clearly tired of life, constantly making jokes about how others will outlive him and such, so he's trying to find different things to look forward to, even if it's the stupidest shit (like a certain third rate comedian that he loves). Youko Satou is also enjoyable to watch. She is disguising as Fable's sister and her lines are funny too, the main thing she is looking forward to is "a good man".

Score: 9/10

Sound: The sound in this show is very good. From the SFX to the voice acting, they have nailed this aspect down to the tee. The fights feel real and have stakes, you can feel every hit and punch. As I mentioned, the voice acting is also top tier. The cast of VA's is stacked, seeing as there are big names such as Miyuki Sawashiro, Akio Ootsuka, and Kana Hanazawa. Additionally, the chemistry between Miyuki Sawashiro (Youko) and Kazuyuki Okitsu (Akira) is very natural and smooth. Their character interactions are dynamic, quirky, and overall engaging.

Score: 10/10

Animation: I saw a lot of people complaining about this, saying that "Tezuka production ruined another great manga... blah blah blah". Look, I don't think the animation is S tier, but it's certainly not bad. In fact, it's pretty good. Even though this is the weakest part of the show, the fights still look fluid and are well composed and choreographed. The character art could be a little better, but even so, I ain't complaining.

OP and ED: I love the op, ALI once again delivered. Visuals aren't anything out of this world, as it mainly consists of still shots of the various characters, but the song is an absolute vibe, so for that reason alone I enjoy the opening theme a lot.

The ending however leaves a lot to be desired. Not only is the song really bad (it's shitty autotune rap) but the visuals don't stand out as they just roll credits and have slideshow visuals. You can definitely skip the ED and u won't be missing out on anything.

Overall, I believe that The Fable is a very enjoyable show that anyone can enjoy. It has an excellent cast of characters, good comedy, fights, serious moments, sound design, and an overall interesting and gripping atmosphere and plot.

Good casual watch, there's really not much to say about the series so far. Having this anime cut into different seasons/part 2 with different MAL pages makes it a bit awkward to write review for. These 12 episodes are really just the beginning and for that reason it's hard to judge the story or the characters, their development is still far from done.

With that being said, both the story and the characters seem fine. The story starts off with serious introduction but there's barely any twists or developments to it with just 12 episodes in. The characters are not really deep yet but still very ... likeable.

The premise of "two masterminds battling against each other " is actually hard to write, you need something else to capture the viewer. In death note it was cool because of the twisted judgment of main character, that cannont be interpret as totally bad or totally good "and interesting power system". In moriarty it was fine couse of the revange aspect, the politcal aspect and the chemistry between said two masterminds. In Terror in resonance you have guys that use bombs to scare police and media, without actually hurting anybody, bland police system and fucking antagonis that came out of nowhere, does things ... out of nowhere, has no apparent motive and is really fucking annoying. When the said antagonist showed up the main idea was pulled aside out of nowhere. When in moriarty the idea of two masterminds working together was executed perfectly , in Terror in resonance it came out of ass and wasn't at all satisfying.

Can you sympathise with a chair, really?

At first, I was sure this movie would be in my watchlist for ages because the last movie of the director didn’t really impress me that much. Then I got bored and scrolled through Netflix and well, I gave it a try. So glad I did!

It really is a wonderful movie.

I gotta compare this movie to another non-anime related movie that cane out at the same time; Disneys Wish. The movie was the 100th year celebration movie where you would imagine ... the story to be groundbreaking. This was not the case and Suzume did everything right that Wish did bad. Or so to say.

The characters were similar to Wish. You have one main character, a side character of higher interest and a bunch of others that just appeared in the movie. Here we have a good example of how side characters are portrayed right and were made interesting enough to continue the movie. I loved the main character a lot. She was nice and so ambitious which is barely even seen in movies nowadays. It‘s easy to loose such characters and cut them off as boring. (Again which was the case in Wish) I am honestly a bit surprised that they turned the boy into a chair. But. They. Made. It. Work.
(Oh god I was rooting for a whole chair lmao)

Story-wise, this was insane. I was afraid they’d loose me in the first half of the movie but then everything happened so fast that you couldn’t close the screen. Even the whole roadtrip scene was strangely entertaining and I felt the second-hand embarrassment through the TV. {A good movie makes you feel other emotions than just joy.} I also adored how much fantasy the creators put in the movie. It was creative and finally not something recycled.

I cannot begin on how good the animation was because that would take me hours to even comprehend.

I‘d recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Ghibli. The worldbuilding and fantasy aspects in modern japan just felt similar to it. They also used a nice factor of morally grey characters where you couldn’t even hate the cat, for instance. It was a nice touch on perspective.

The only problem I had with the movie was that I just couldn’t really connect to the characters. Even though death was nicely portrayed I felt like there was a lack of emotion there. I couldn’t even pinpoint the exact reason why, though. Maybe someone else can.

Look, (to whomever reading) I didn't watch "Momochi-san chi no Ayakashi Ouji" to trash on it. The premise seemed very "Kamisama Hajimemashita" (or "Kamisama Kiss") and I was all for it. I was very much here to enjoy a shojo ayakashi rom-com...

Except, you can just watch Kamisama Hajimemashita instead.

I don't know what this story tries to accomplish or what the story is even, it just seemed like a bad copy-paste work of Kamisama Kiss. And that has me sad & angry. ... At first I was thinking 'well, this is juts an average anime that walks straight behind Kamisama Kiss', but by the end of it, i knew it doesn't. It's bad. it's not worth the time or the energy. and it makes me sad that it is like this.

story? - was all over the place. things just popped up & happened & it went like that. they thought they could get away w the finale being all mushy-overflow w a happy ending. welp, didn't work for me. Kasha had so much potential as main villain - didn't see him at all, nor is his obsession with Nue explained (and thus, that's my ship - Nue x Kasha)

if you miss Kamisama Kiss & wanted something similar, skip this & re-watch Kamisama Kiss - you'll be 10x happier & fulfilled. Idk if it's because Kamisama Kiss has just been so successful in this particlular sub-genre of shojo rom-com or because Momochi-san chi no Ayakashi Ouji was just bad... - i guess bcs the stories are so similar i couldn't help but keep comparing the two throughout my watch.

There are plenty of ayakashi-falls-in-love-with-main-girl stories out there however, i opine that Momochi-san chi no Ayakashi Ouji directly wanted to challenge/compare itself to/with Kamisama Kiss. Nue is a lovely kitsune design - i absolutely loved Kasha's and Nue's character design, but alas is this anime a failure :(

I find it weird how this anime is not getting a lot of attention, despite the idea that the anime has a pretty vague premise, so any form of hype for this original work is pretty mild, but after seeing an amazing job they did with Oshi no Ko and looking at this one, I had to try and figure out if it was worth the shot. Sure, I got a bit iffy with the title but after a few episodes, I seriously want people to watch this anime. It's one of the anime where the staff did a stellar job in almost all of ... the core aspects of a good show, writing, tone, narrative, visuals, and characters.

I think one of the difficult parts of making an original anime is that you need to have a strong first impression and provide something worth watching so viewers can stick around and watch till the end. It takes a lot to make a good first episode and certainly is not easy to do. The atmosphere the anime is going for is urban, vibrant, and lively, further amplified by the setting of Japan's most popular nightlife area, Shibuya. The staff working on this does a great job of portraying that along with establishing characters that make sense to the setting they made, it's not random arbitrary characters that are meant to repeat one-liners and quips every time they take screen time, they are characters that are made in mind with the atmosphere and act accordingly to what they should be in the circumstances the writers established in. You wouldn't want absent-minded characters just speaking cutesy things in a supposed rekindling talent plot, right? You wouldn't also want an extremely positive character that just gets a bit sad for a few minutes and then gets happy like nothing happens, right?

I don't think I have to say this out loud, but it's pretty obvious that the visuals are lock-on tight when the production is from Doga Kobo and it has continued to deliver in this case. There's less of that moe fanservice and the facial features of the characters are more natural to look at unless you're not okay with different colored hairs, but even then, I think it's almost impossible for Doga Kobo to disappoint in terms of character designs and visuals.

One of the best parts that the anime is doing is that it establishes characters with an internal conflict and they all are trying to improve themselves, just like how the synopsis said. The anime understands characters need to have a starting point in their life and they all need to strive to make that jump, it's practically an anime that shows the journey of cute teenage girls rekindling their lost talents, but looking at how the staff has managed to produce it, I'd say there's a solid chance for it to be a great original anime, joining into the GOATs of original anime.

My case is that you should try to watch it. It may be vague, yes. But the staff did a great job with what they managed to establish in a few episodes and going forward, I can see in a positive light that it will get better from there.

Nothing but disappointment.
The only positive thing about this anime is the opening music. The plot is nothing but a nonsense, the relationship between the characters is also nonsense. Everyone said it was philosophically powerful, had very deep underlying meanings, and was very impressive, but all I saw in the anime was completely nothing. Lucy's story is told in a sketchy manner, which makes it very difficult to understand the plot of the anime. The mc of the anime is nothing but a stupid teen boy, but somehow, everyone is obsessed with him.
I am so mad. Waste of my time.

This show is so cliché and generic that it should have been dropped a long time ago.
However, it has something that entertains me and I don't know what it is, maybe its characters... They are tiresome/annoying but they have their own thing, I will write a more complete review once it is finished. (If I complete the program haha)

It has a nice animation that does not falter for now, I would not recommend it to anyone at the moment because it is a somewhat strange series, it does not develop anything nor does it have an interesting premise behind it.

Perhaps in its somewhat forced "comedy" ... it may be the most notable, despite the fact that unreal things happen in the program, the characters' reaction is so bad that it is laughable, they take everything lightly and well... That is what The program is VERY unrealistic.

Even so, I keep seeing it and for some unknown reason I haven't dropped it, although I will most likely do so later.

A lovely blend of fanservice and cuteness in just the right amounts, all packaged up in a visual treat. While this anime won’t make you come to any life-changing epiphanies, it will provide a joyful amount of enjoyment across all spectrums of typical anime spheres. Unless you absolutely hate fan-service or need blood and gore in your anime, this one is worth a try for sure.

There is fanservice in this anime, yes. However it is in very modest amounts, and doesn’t feel out of place or incredibly forced to the narrative, it also comes with it some very prettily drawn elements of clothes and ... bodies, ones that would be inspiring to an artist or mangaka.

Everything else illustratively in One Room is stellar, from the expressive eyes to the variations between characters. It’s not a masterpiece by any stretch, however it doesn’t need to be. That said, the backgrounds and landscapes could do with a bit more variety, but that feels like nitpicking for what this anime is.

Probably the biggest surprise of this anime is how well the voice casting and voice acting is. Lines delivered by all have a strong sense of emotion behind them, and the voice for the female MC in particular is perfect.

Storyline wise, there shouldn’t be an expectation of a masterpiece or thought provoking grand epic for an anime in this genre, so it’s unlikely as the story unfolds such will occur. The only concern is a potential for harem-creep to occur, and too many girls in the narrative, to bog things down stylistically.

Regardless, absolutely worth the three episode try!

The animation is gorgeous, making the fantastical world of Sousou no Frieren truly come alive. The landscapes are vibrant, the character designs are expressive, and the action sequences are as smooth as a buttered elf's hair. Even the trees in this show look like they've been rendered by Michelangelo.
Sousou no Frieren is a gem of an anime that will tickle your funny bone while tugging at your heartstrings. Whether you're into fantasy, comedy, or introspective narratives about the meaning of life, this series has something for everyone. Just remember, folks: life is short, but anime series are forever. And so is Frieren, for better or ... for worse.

Nothing new to say for this show, expected it the same way for new season...it is one of my favourite and I enjoy it every single bit of it

One thing to say to Haters who says it is slow paced or say little to no action or it is just talk simulator, if you have problem with it just don't watch it. It is not made for you, if you don't like world building, country building, character development or interactions or political issues with some in-between amazing action, then it is not made for you.

Me who had HoneyWorks songs and PVs on replay mostly (still do on occasion), it was immensely enjoyable; those personalities, unrequited loves, sibling loves, and love triangles into a mere hour. Autumn is quiet, but my heart is buzzing. The voices actors become a little more mature to suit their characters, i really like this song because ... it represents me the most. All three couples are worried about "long distance love''
Natsuki and Yu have “differences in the way they feel”
Mochi and Akari represent the “strength of feelings”
Mio and Haruki “can’t meet the other person” is a big wall...
Autumn Session has a different way of entering the song than the other three, it's the most calming of all the songs, but it has more feelings than any of the other songs, and it conveys that he's struggling with the crossroads of being an adult and a student, not forget the distinct sadness I like how they properly depict the misunderstandings and the painful parts of love, but it's this song that makes Spring Session make me cry all at once. The flow is perfect. Personally for me the difference between the men's team's "I want to touch you" love and the women's team's "I want to see you" love is also very emotional. My feelings are overflowing and I can't stop crying. I've always loved HoneyWorks and i always will. Isn't it great that HoneyWorks grows old just like us. THE ARTS OF HoneyWorks NEVER FAIL.

Isekai power-fantasy harem trash that knows what it is, doesn't take itself the least bit seriously and ends up being better off because of it.

The world is ridiculous, so are the characters, the animation is flat & lifeless, the character design is generic harem bimbo stuff, the characters themselves are 2 dimensional at best, the music is whatever, the plot is all over the place & predictable at the same time, and yet the experience as a whole was enjoyable, mainly because the protagonist is an asshole who does whatever he wants with no regard of what's right or virtuous, failing upward in the process.

If ... you're in a silly mood, you enjoy power-fantasies, but are tired of Anime pretending to be anything other than the complete and utter garbage they are (*cough* SAO *cough* Shield Hero *cough*), I'd recommend giving this a try, especially in the english dub, where the campy & over the top acting adds another layer of foolishness to the experience. A refreshingly un-serious take on a worn out genre.

NGL I was hesitating to watch this anime (not a fan of bl), well i'm glad that it's not gay. There's no hint of a romance between the two "daddies", they just live together. There aren't even any cringe gay-baiting moments or jokes, and no character in the show automatically assumes they are in a relationship when they see them with a little girl who calls them both "papa". The first thing anyone brings up when talking about Buddy Daddies is that it’s like Spy X Family, and while I get that sentiment, there are quite a few fundamental differences between the two. Whereas Spy ... X Family takes a more comedic approach to the primary family unit with some fun and suspenseful spy thrown in, Buddy Daddies feels far more real. Kazuki, Miri, and Rei slowly become a family not out of convenience but rather thanks to the genuine bond that they can feel taking shape between them. Despite its short thirteen-episode run, i can say that Buddy Daddies dedicates enough time to its three main characters and most important that their development to have the viewer getting teary-eyed and feeling. I love how the anime just went straight into the action while slowly unfolding the truths and pasts of our beloved characters. Yes, I'm giving this a 10, if you ask me which one i like more between spyxfam or this, i can say buddy daddies win. Well ofc i love both of the anime but i feel buddy daddies more interesting for me personally, buddy daddies contains a perfect balance of heart-warming family scenes, incredibly attractive characters and graphic violence with fairly realistic consequences. I really enjoy the animation and aesthetics of this anime. It's colorful and everything/everybody stands out.

Kata no Ato, or the Mark of Emi, is one of the strangest, but equally amongst the most charming, anime dubbed 'girl's love'. It's not a particularly interesting work and, outside of its art, isn't particularly creative, but it doesn't need to be. It's a well-trodden story (if what there is can even be called a story), told as it needs to be told in a short 4-minute format that succeeds in what it sets out to do, establishing the main character's growing feelings for her friend Emi.

Where it shines, however, is in the art style, which is creative and expressive, feeling at ... some points weirdly sensual and at others incredibly subdued (wherever the story requires it to be so). The biggest mark in favour of its art, however, is the fact that, even if you can't understand what is being said, the emotions and experiences of the characters are still clear and accessible to the audience.

Josee, The Tiger & The Fish is a beautifully animated story about the growing relationship between a mobility aid-bound girl named Josee & Tsueno, who becomes her caretaker and helps her get out of her home and explore the world, animated movie formats in general are fast paced due to its short run time - relying on common tropes, and melodrama to convey the story quickly and efficiently, it simply can't be fleshed out like a TV-series, and this movie is no different. The realistic anime texture of the world was so colorful and bright. The romance and drama were great. Josee, the Tiger and ... the Fish may have had a slightly bumpy start, but it knows its own strengths and uses it to build its momentum, but the true spotlight here is josee and tsuneo. seeing them both grow, understanding there own feeling, learning something new and supporting each other without actually interfering with each others dream. It's so true to see both the sad moments like the sense of people not caring based on a simple disability, a family that can be overbearing with fear for their loved ones... Visual and art from studio bones is very good and also the music from Eve reaaly great. The ending feel like a cure for my disappointed on the LA version.

This was a really amazing MANWHA adapted anime. The animation done by A-1 Pictures was truly magnicant, as well as the soundtracks. The VA for Jing Woo was just outstanding throughout the season, definetely deserves an award. Look, I'll be honest when I say the story is a little quite generic and basic (cause it's really all about the main character wanting to become stronger), BUT that is not what I came here for. I came for the quality fights and animation, and Solo Leveling executed it magnificantly.

I saw a lot of critics regarding the plot/story of the anime, and what I will say is ... that if you're expecting some long, character development from characters other than the MC, or extremely high quality good storytelling, this anime won't suite you....BUT if you're looking for an anime full of action, insane quality animation and fight scenes, and an overpowered, dedicated MC, then you will most definetely LOVE Solo Leveling!!! It's honestly about what type of genre you're into and what you're expecting to get out of an action anime, But this is definetely one of the best new gen, action genre anime you will find out there. It definetely lived up to it's hype. A 10 rating from me.

Really looking foward to Season 2!

Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki translates to "Wolf Children Ame and Yuki" animated film directed by Hosoda Mamoru of Studio Chizu. I'll just start literally by saying "Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki" is amazing 10/10 and must be watched by all. The girl fall in love with werewolf (loving him and having his kids) the focus of this story is not the relationship between the couple, but between the mother and her children. Although this makes for an interesting approach to the overused concept of the relationship between humans and their wolf relatives. It’s an experience that on end can bring a person ... to complete ruin to giving someone a very reason to exist on the other. It’s ironic how being a parent is one of the greatest challenges and hardships that a person can experience but yet nearly everyone is one or will be one. As for the graphic: smooth animation, the faces of characters tend to be blurry when they are showing off the backgrounds, but otherwise, the artwork was nice. Well all i can say that this movie is "the kind of story that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside." for me this movie is my favorite out of all movie (20/04/2024) i cry a lot in this movie and feel so touched watching this movie was just so beautiful. I don't even have to be in the situation to just understand the emotions and bitter sweetness. I WANT MORE

Shoujo Kakumei Utena, or Revolutionary Girl Utena, is one of the best drama/shoujo animes that I have ever watched.

*This review may contain some spoilers, but only minor ones*

RGU's story is very interesting and unique, but also feels very familiar in a way at the same time. Everyone knows of stories about a prince on a white horse that vows to save a princess from someone or something evil, but RGU uses this type of story in a very unique and exciting way, in which a girl vows to become a prince to save a princess, who also happens to be witch, from the prince ... who saved her and inspired her as a young kid, which is actually the villian.

The characters in the story are also very well written and different from each other. In many episodes, characters can be used to represent something with a deeper meaning. Even things as simple as normal-seeming objects can be used to symbolize something or teach a lesson. Things that may seem to have a simple meaning are actually very complex and sometimes contribute to the story as a whole and the story's lesson or idea.

The pacing for the show is perfect, at least in my opinion. Each arc has enough episodes and is unique, often times introducing new characters or shedding light on a character to give them more backstory and screentime.

Just as a heads up for anyone watching, the series is probably darker and more serious than you think. Topics of r@pe and incest are present in the show. However, RGU tackles these subjects as a way to inform the watcher of the negative impact they have on others, and to not romanticize them.

Hyouka is an anime based on a series of novels by Yonezawa Honobu. The anime adaptation was handled by Kyoto animation. also Hyouka is a mystery series about everyday occurrences, revolving around four high school students in the Classic Literature Club that only resolving small and seemingly insignificant mysteries. Starring a highly introverted and lazy male protagonist but smart, character are initially attractive but inadequately develop, and often repeat the same key lines through almost any situation. They carry through the scene enough to make it work, but not diverse enough to create anything of significance. Hyouka is a beautifully animated anime (great opening and ... ending) unfortunately that's all it is. Some people might find this anime "boring" good mystery kinda long/slow paced? and the romance part was really "less" i dont know i can say this anime has romance genre in it because its like nothing at all. The ending kinda.. ordinary? and seems it doesn't have season 2 as well. But i really love the main character(oreki) kinda feel likable.

Generic Isekai Harem anime with 1 dimensional characters and a revenge plot without the revenge.

Imagine being framed for the worst crime imaginable and having your reputation destroyed across the whole country while nobody believes you. Nobody wants to work with you and on top of that, you're restricted to only using a shield, but are nevertheless expected to fight off waves of monsters. This helpless, hopeless, rage inducing predicament is what got me hooked at first. An angry protagonist with nothing to lose and a setup for a great revenge narrative? F*ck yeah, let's go! But what I got was one-note characters, tired trope after ... tired trope, a major conflict driven by stupidity rather than any real interesting reason for conflict and a pathetic resolution to the whole revenge saga.

Harem: this is a harem anime, so how does it deliver? Barely. The girls/women have no personalities outside loving the protagonist, no depth, no traits that could make them interesting or fun to watch. Their designs and vocal performances are as generic as they come, you could close your eyes and think you were watching any of the other thousand assembly line harems out there. At least we're spared the flustered bumbling spineless male protagonist trope, since our guy is too angry to for that.

Revenge plot: The setup is there, the anger is there, but the show doesn't have the balls to follow through on this theme. In fact it has a naive child's sense of "justice" when it comes to dolling out retribution. At one point a character who tortures and kills people for fun is spared by his former victim because "killing him would make me no better than him", even though he's STILL DOING IT AND WILL DO IT AGAIN IN THE FUTURE IF YOU DON'T KILL HIM! Give me a f*cking break. Without spoiling too much of the ending, the villains responsible for framing our protagonist & making his life a living hell never get their comeuppance, they get what amounts to a slap on the wrist & get to roam around freely like nothing happened. F*ck off.

The only thing worthwhile is the animation and soundtrack, but in every other regard this show is a major letdown. Don't bother.

Storry / General
It's basically about three students who are raped by demons in order to get cores inside them and about a boy they love with minimal supernatural abilities who tries to protect them. Sounds weird? It's a bit strange, yet it's one of a favorite hentai.

It's what you'd expect from PoRo: young girls being raped in various ways. What makes it special? There are a variety of different locations where the "plot" takes place, with a high number of different characters (both in appearance and personality) and different "plot" types for a hentai with only 2 episodes.

The story is kinda wierd. To be honest, ... I also understood some elements exactly, e.g. why this situation came about in the first place, why they have cores in them, or why does this happen at the end...

Animation
I love the animation style of poro. It's just awesome. There are no extremely exaggerated amounts of body fluids such as sweat, the animations are fluid and the characters' skin barely shines/glitters. The different body characteristics are shown well.

Voice acting / Music / Sounds
The voice acting is again what you can expect from PoRo. It's not perfect... For example, you could hear more emotion in the voice, but it's more than enough. The characters were all cast with appropriate voices. The music fits the general mood of anime and adjusts the volume. There are hardly any sounds, but you don't need them, and the ones that are available are good.

"Plot"
The erotic scenes are quite diverse. For example, it include vanilla stuff (blowjobs, oral, ...), more exotic stuff (tentacles, reptiles/demons/humans, dream invasion, ...) and also more extreme stuff (rape, choking, ...).

Recommendation
If you're a fan of PoRo's work like me, just like the genre or wanted to try something new, I can only recommend Rasen Sokou no Dystopia. It is one of the hentai that made me actively watch hentai.

The story is about a man who's traveled into another world but not isekai since he's not reincarnated. In that world, he must collect 5 rings to have enough power to defeat the abyss (enemies). To collect the ring, he must marry and kiss the girl (mostly princess) that has a different location. It's become interesting when he must do the trial in order to get the ring.

The art in this anime is quite good. I like the shadow and color they were using but I prefer if they can make the background more detailed.

Elf Princess Rane is a vanishingly brief, well-produced, confused little mid-90s OVA. It has all the visual acuity and charm one expects from both the era and the format, but none of the narrative clarity that allows the abundant comedy to really shine through. Beginning with the story, it is essentially nonexistent outside of the setup. Go is an eccentric treasure hunter, and along with his childhood friend Mari, they stumble upon a tiny magic elf called Rane, who is on a quest to discover some artifact known as the four hearts. Beyond this setup, it is simply a chaotic mess. Two rival organizations, the ... Fire Department and Yumenotaka, both staffed by two sisters of a set of identical triplets, are also somehow involved with Go's pursuit of riches and all the elf magic, but exactly how is not exactly clear. There's also this trend of certain characters speaking complete and total gibberish, a language only those who clandestinely speak it understand. This is exemplified by Zenshuuin, a blue-haired eccentric and Feng Sui master who has perhaps more than 50% of his dialogue in this tongue. Anyway, individual moments of slapstick comedy are well-executed, but that's more thanks to the art than any aspect of the story or its writing. Speaking of the art, it is the strong point of this OVA by a mile. It looks fantastic, with smooth, lively animation that is bursting with color, and character designs which strike a balance between visual appeal and creative flare. The art style really brings everything to life, from the detailed machines to the sheer expressiveness of the characters which live within the world itself. The sound is a close second to the art, with impressive, fast-paced voice acting with an especially wide range of temperaments, though that feels almost wasted on a one-off comedy which is pretty much only in one emotional gear the entire time. The characters are solid, meeting all standards of quality for the time, and of the cast the main duo, Go and Mari, are my favorites, mostly due to their contrast and interactions with their respective magical guests. Overall, Elf Princess Rane is fun, but it leaves a lot of its potential on the table, resulting in an experience which is passingly entertaining for its total run of just under an hour. Give it a shot if you want to see a relatively unknown comedy OVA, or if you're really into this subgenre of 90s anime, but even then, there are better examples out there.

They drag pachinko episode too long, that i lose interest on this anime, unlike card game machine game are less interesting to watch and they drag that like what 8 episodes? It get boring real fast. Repetitive, get tired of waiting because for one the art style is not my favorite to begin with but season 1 got interesting plots so i try to watch till end anyway.. but season 2? starting with this pachinko machine, i get boring, every next episode i question myself how many time they want to drag this?

"My teen RomCom Snafu" says the title. Well, where the fuck is it then?!? This show is a disgrace to the RomCom genre!

Well, first of there is no romance or comedy in this show. No, like for real the title of this show is a bunch of bullshit to attract you to watch a 13 episode trash with having no goal or objective in its plot. There isn't even a plot. There are just lifeless characters hovering around the map trying to force meaningless conversations with the most boring ass topics and thinking as if they are making some progress in the story. Pathetic honestly ... how the producers thought that this is even a least bit of entertaining. This is nothing more than some "not so funny business" if it was made into an anime. This is the most overrated anime I've ever seen.

Apart from the characters and the story being a bunch of baloney, the art and the animation really sucks as well! Its like I'm watching fucking tetris turned into an anime. Its absolutely horrible, everthing looks so dogshit. Having no plot or premise aside this show has some weak drama which looks so forced and cringy that only a robot can think of it as any good.

The only plus points might be the voice acting and the op and ed which I quite liked. Not sure if everyone would have the same opinion as I am an osu player. I am pretty sure that viewers rated this based of the "waifu" priviliges on yukinon cuz this is just garbage.

The anime is fairly average, but that's not to say it's bad. It's just that I personally prefer the manga over the anime adaptation. While the anime does a decent job bringing the story to life, there are some nuances and details in the manga that get lost in translation. The pacing of the anime can sometimes feel rushed, especially compared to the more immersive and detailed experience of reading the manga.

Additionally, the animation quality, while not poor, can be inconsistent at times and doesn't fully capture the depth and intricacies of the original artwork. The voice acting is solid, but again, there are moments ... where the emotion and impact seem stronger in the manga.

Overall, it's still a decent watch for fans and those new to the series might enjoy it. However, if you have the option, I'd recommend checking out the manga for a more complete and satisfying experience.

Grimm Kumikyoku does a fantastic job at it's art, storytelling and characters. Each episode follows a different twisted fairytale with different types of horror that will have you squirming. So no matter which type of horror you find the most scary, Grim Kumiyoku probably has an episode perfect for you!

Like stated before, all 6 episodes follow a different fairytale. There are six episodes in total, all following beloved stories. But you wouldn't dare telling these ones to your children. You have Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Town Musicians of Bremen and Pied Piper of ... Hamelin. Horror is subjective, and not everyone will find creepy little girls or slasher terrifying. So what Grimm Kumikyoku does is make each episode based on a different type of horror. The storyline of each episode is compelling and interesting to watch. I was on the edge of my seat for the few I've watched throughout them and I don't doubt that it'll be different for the next 2.

The visuals are also just gorgeous, they nailed the aesthetics for this anime. Something noticeable about the artwork is how they tackle the medieval writers' vibe at the start of episodes. The artists make the scenes between Charlotte, Jacob and Wilhelm look like it's a sketch on a piece of old and yellowed paper. Which fits exactly what time period it's based in. They carry this look onto the outro and it fits so well.

Definitely watch it if you have the time too, it is worth the experience.

Another Repackaged Normal Highschool Action Shonen with the same formula, purely carried by the fight choreography.

Let's get the good thing out of the way first. First of all, the fight choreography is a MASTERPIECE in itself to bare witness, for a normal hand to hand combat. The fight scene is so good its remind me of old Chinese fights movie, where you can see every move and its impact clearly [10+/10]. Reinforced by it's very BEAUTIFUL animation, with all aspect of production quality very good, even for action Shonen standards [10/10].

However, that's where all the good ... stuff ends. First, the plot is VERY formulaic of a normal high school action anime. Nothing of note, original, or unique so far [7/10]. The comedy is also very Shonen comedy, aim for kids, which if you like it then good for you [6/10].

The WORST thing by a mile with this show though, is its character writing. Even though character writing in Shonen anime is understandably not that good compared to other genre, this show take it another level lower. EVERY character, even the protagonist, is very 1 dimensional and stereotypical. The cool senior, the screaming sidekick, the emo side kick, the cool but chill friend, the calm cool and handsome antagonist, and ofc the all mighty good protagonist. While the protagonist is arguably unique, it's still very much 1 dimensional unique, and would need to see more improvement. They didn't even hide the basically copied Gojou Satoru (cool senior) into the show, with the same VA and character design! All the same stuff repackaged into a delinquent theme. Character development? BOOM a flashback, about to loose? BOOM a flashback. Overall the very same stuff is NOTHING innovative at all. [3/10]

The delinquents theme isn't even that good either. It's just a re-themed fantasy action Shonen show (namely Jujutsu Kaisen) with just the down to earth style and more cruelty. Can be refreshing for you if you haven't tried a delinquents show before, but overall very the same with other theme. [8/10]

In conclusion, the fight choreography and animation alone can be worth the watch, but honestly the other stuff really bring down this show potential a lot. With the bad character writing, lazy same ol plot, and the brain dead comedy where a character screaming is funny. For a new anime watcher, this can be fun for them and is worth a try! But for anyone who even watch some Action Shounen before, this is the same ol stuff, and there's many other Action Shounen show that worth more the time to watch than this one.
[Overall, as an Action Shonen Anime: 8/10]

hoo boy. coming off paradox spiral this chapter is complete tonal whiplash. azaka kokutou, a minor character who appears in all of 3 scenes in the previous 5 chapters, takes center stage this time and right off the bat we learn that her needless cruelty towards shiki in her previous appearances is because ~incest reasons~. azaka is an infuriatingly bad character while shiki is largely relegated to the background but at least she gets like one cool scene. from what ive gathered the adaptation of this chapter deviates a bit from the light novel but i don't think the original was much better, it's purpose ... was a moment of levity after the much heavier paradox spiral which is fine but not entirely necessary. even if you remove the incest shit from the equation oblivion recording's biggest crime is that it's boring and very little happens to advance the overarching plot (seriously, the most important part of this chapter is the post-credits scene). ufotable and yuki kaijura kill it in the animation and music department as usual so it's not entirely irredeemable. highlight of this chapter was azaka slamming the back of her head into the edge of a stone fountain which got a gut laugh out of me. figures id have the most to say about the weakest entry.

Stronk magic boy Zagan falls in love with slave elf girl and buys her, and he treats her, a mere slave waifu, KINDLY? This anime really be breaking new grounds here, never saw that coming. Stockholm syndrome? More like stockholm WINdrome. Hahahaha.... sorry. Whenever our boy Zagan feels a bit sad, elf waifu is always there by his side to remind him that he is 'KIND' because he treated her well. What a revolutionary anime with original ideas!

What did I even expect?. It's a generic 'dude treats traumatized girl with basic human decency until she develops feelings for him' anime. Whoever called this 'original' and ... 'refreshing' compared to other romcoms, you haven't watched enough anime yet (good for you, keep up the great work). It's riddled with so many cliches, dude says lame ass generic lines and regrets his existence right after. Nephy asks him if they could sleep together, bro has an entire cringey internal monologue 'OMH ThIS Is SoO EmBaRRasInG' ~blush~. They even pull the cliche ass 'Am danger now. So I be pretend mean to her and tell her I no need her no more so she go away from danger ~sob~ ~sob~'. Yeah sure my guy, a girl with severe abandonment issues, who you assured should live on for your sake, would be TOTALLYYY fine if you suddenly abandoned her, told her you didnt need her anymore, and kicked her out without explanation. Ugh. If we ignore the basic ass forced romance aspect of this show, and the 'Dummies guide to make characters get closer' lvl character bonding; the world building, the sub plot, and the magic systems are actually somewhat interesting.

This anime is justtt about enjoyable enough to get a recommended from me. I see potential, and its only been 4 eps, and I have a feeling it will get better. But so far, its just been fucking underwhelming. You might like it, so if you're into romance/shoujo, check it out and decide for yourself.

Start is building up from last season after the Warpurgis and is slowly getting us up to date with different parts of world.

It will build up to good action and more interesting story but it will be full length novel instead of short stories. Would suggest to wait to start watching show till at least 7-8 episodes have passed so that pace gets built.

Animation: Quality animation for isekai shows with good sound tracks.
Characters: Good goofy characters with quality back stories.
Story: Story is in starting phase with the characters being ... reintroduced and setting for the season is being made.
